Bethany H. Blackburn took office as a Council Member in January 2018. She serves as the Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors of Shaler-Hampton EMS and is the Council liaison to the Depreciation Lands Museum.
She holds an undergraduate degree in economics and French studies from Smith College and a MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She served for two years in the Peace Corps (Cote d’Ivoire 99-01), and then worked for several years as a municipal budget analyst for the City of Santa Clara (California).
She is currently the CEO of North Side Christian Health Center. Her career in healthcare also includes management of the Center for Care of Infectious Diseases at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and multiple specialties at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Additionally, she leads two Girl Scout troops and is a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Bethany and her husband, Jason, have three children, who all attend Hampton public schools and are active in the high school marching band and athletics. She is proud to call Hampton her home.
