We are excited to announce that Hampton Township Police are again participating in “NO SHAVE NOVEMBER…and Don’t Stop December, January and February”!!
No—Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. “Don’t Stop December, January and February” continues the fundraising efforts beyond November.
For this year’s fundraising drive, donations will be split between the Mrs. Claus Club Pittsburgh North Chapter and Hampton student Kaylee R. Manz. Like last year, the Department will continue to support the Mrs. Claus Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to local women and men undergoing cancer treatments. Please see the attached link to learn more about this organization Mrs. Claus Club North Hills Chapter
Kaylee Manz is a 1st grade student at Central Elementary School. Kaylee has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of blood cancer that affects white blood cells. Cancer starts in the bone marrow, the spongy tissue inside the bones where blood cells are produced. Acute lymphocytic leukemia occurs when the bone marrow produces immature white blood cells due to a gene defect.
All participating officers have pledged a donation and we are asking for your help as well. We would be honored if you would submit a donation of your own using the information provided. Or you can make a cash or check donation to the Hampton Police Department Charity Fund. Please contact the Hampton Police Department, 412-486-0400, if you have any questions.
