Department of Community Development

COVID-19 OPERATIONS UPDATE:

Starting on May 1st, all construction projects in PA are permitted to resume non-emergency work and to maintain in-person operations pursuant to the Governor’s and Secretary of Health’s April 20th amendments to the Business Closure Orders.  As such, Hampton Township will resume issuing building/zoning permits and conducting inspections on May 1st.  A full listing of operational guidelines for the construction industry from the State is available
here.  Please contact the Department of Community Development (412-486-0400 ext. 1304 or permitting@hampton-pa.org) for more information on how to submit applications while the Municipal Building is closed, and how modified department operations may affect the review process.

The Department of Community Development is responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing township land use policies, ordinances, and regulations; administering federal and state mandated programs; processing and issuing building, zoning and other development permits; providing building inspections and plan reviews; and carrying out other long-range community development programs. The department also serves as liaison and provides staff support to the Environmental Advisory Council, Planning Commission, and the Zoning Hearing Board.
