Boards, Commissions & Committees
In addition to the 6 departments that make up the Township of Hampton government, there also exists 7 boards, commissions, and committees that help to set policies and provide services within the township. These boards, which are composed primarily of community members, not only give private citizens the ability to participate in civic action, but also give voice to specific issues that may not otherwise receive proper attention.
Volunteering for the Township
Approximately 42 volunteers serve on a township board, commission, or committee that has been created by either township regulation, a resolution, or a motion of Township Council itself. The responsibilities, powers, terms of office, membership size, qualifications, and meeting schedule vary for each board, commission, and committee.
