  • What are the rates and rules for garbage removal?

    Waste Management provides unlimited curb service for household trash and recyclables for the following costs:

    • $70.48 every 4 months
    • Senior Rate: $70.48 every 4 months - 10% discount for persons 65 and over, financial head of household or their spouse must contact Waste Management and send proof of age and residence
    • 5% discount for any resident paying on a yearly basis prior to the end of February of each contract year.

    This service entitles the customer to place unlimited household trash and bulky items such as:

    • appliances (with Freon removed and tagged by a certified technician),
    • carpet cut and bundled in 4’ lengths no greater than 40 pounds,
    • Christmas trees no greater than 6’
    • recycle consisting of commingled glass cans and plastics, newspaper and magazine tied with string or twine and/or placed in brown paper bag.

    Leaf pickups:  Yard Waste will be picked up on a monthly basis, from March 15th through December 15th, one(1) day per residence each month as determined by Waste Management. Items included are: Leaves, garden residue (no dirt attached) in paper biodegrdable bags, shrubbery, limbs, twigs, brush and tree trimmings cut in 4' length, no larger than 3" diameter, no greater than 40 pounds securely tied and bundled. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS. Grass clippings may be put with your garbage on your garbage day.

    Yard Waste pickup may be a different day than your garbage. Waste Management sent out a calendar to residents in October, 2008 with the day they will pick up Yard Waste and what they will pick up.

    If you do not know your day of collection for Yard Waste, please call Waste Management for your calendar at 1-800-458-4090.

    The following items will not be accepted at the curb or at the landfill: Paving materials, stones, rocks, sand, dirt, broken concrete, automobile parts, lead acid batteries, sod, paint and stains, (paint cans containing dried paint with lids removed may be placed at the curb with the lid removed) flammable liquids, metal 55 gallon drums, grease drums, pianos, spas, free liquids, pool chemicals, other chemicals, loose needles, syringes and lancets, hot tubs, large screen televisions, garage door openers, concrete wash tubs, water softeners that have not been emptied of salt, guns, ammunition and explosives, bushes, shrubs or other vegetation with earth or soil attached to the root system, tree trunks, parts of tree trunks, or tree trunks that have been cut into smaller pieces and waste resulting from a landlord’s eviction of a tenant.
